KCI donates to the Big Build appeal!

Kinetics Controls and Innovations Ltd (KCI), has donated a significant sum to the Charlie House Big Build appeal, an ambitious project to create a specialist care facility for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in the North-east of Scotland.

KCI first donated to Charlie House in September 2020 and has continued to be a close-knit partner, passionate about helping them build a welcoming and supportive home away from home. Our contributions over the last two years have helped take their fundraising total to more than £4m.

Charlie House continue their mission to reach an £8m target to commence the build and once completed, the purpose built facility will enable children and their families to make precious memories together. The plans include state-of-the-art spaces including a sensory room, spa pool, craft room, soft play area and therapy room.

Alongside the donation, KCI has also supported Charlie House with materials to help deliver merchandise and postal activities to families. Following this, KCI has been awarded Platinum Patron Status through the Big Build Patron programme, an initiative designed to recognise efforts and donations from supporters.

KCI’s Managing Director, Kevin Watt said: “On behalf of everyone at KCI, I feel grateful to be in a position to support Charlie House with its efforts to help local families get support, respite and care when they need it. The charity’s commitment to building a specialist care facility for children right here in this region is an inspiration to all of us and we are proud to be part of the positive difference it will make.”

Jenna Simpson, Corporate Fundraising Coordinator at Charlie House said: “The support from KCI has been brilliant and the donations it has contributed are significant to our Big Build appeal.  Children and families across the North-East need to be able to access a specialist care facility locally without having to travel far afield, but we can’t reach our goals without the support from corporate organisations.  From everyone here at Charlie House, we can’t thank KCI enough for its support over these last few years and look forward to continuing to build on our relationship.”

Outwith the Big Build Appeal, the team at Charlie House works hard to provide activities and projects that enable families to gain confidence, engage socially, meet others in a similar situation and receive emotional and practical support when they need it most.
