KCI donates to Camphill School Aberdeen

Kinetics Controls and Innovations Ltd (KCI) recently donated to Camphill School Aberdeen, a charity that has been transforming the lives of local children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs for over eighty years.

Based across three leafy campuses in the west of Aberdeen, the sector-leading school continues to deliver life-changing outcomes for thousands of children and young people, many of whom may struggle to thrive in mainstream education and other care settings.

More than 95 local young people and children are currently supported by Camphill School through the provision of day and residential services in a community approach. The campus integrates education and learning for life through music, art, play, equine and animal therapy in a nurturing environment underpinned by respect and care for people.

Alex Busch  , Executive Director at Camphill School Aberdeen said, “We are exceedingly thankful for this generous donation from KCI, as it will make a huge impact to the growth and development of the Campus and contribute to our 10-year vision.”

“We hope to raise £10 million over the next decade which will allow us to increase our capacity by 60%, build new residential homes, expand our land and craft workshops, create an internal certified awards centre and develop a sustainable social enterprise. KCI’s donation is a big step towards this goal.”

“We have seen a major increase in demand for our services from some of the most vulnerable children and young people with learning disabilities and complex additional support needs - many who are struggling to thrive in mainstream education and with other care options so donations like this are extremely important to us and the people we support.”

KCI’s Managing Director, Kevin Watt recently visited the Camphill Campus, to witness firsthand where KCI’s donation is making a difference, “On behalf of everyone at KCI, I feel grateful to be in a position to support Camphill with its efforts to increase the capacity of the school and help young people who need it the most with the support they deserve.”
