Sustainability Statement

Now in our 20th year, Kinetics Controls & Innovation (KCI) Ltd is a company firmly focused on the future, while rooted by the values and quality that have been central to our success over the last two decades.

In particular, we recognise the hard work and commitment of our talented team, whose expertise in engineering leak sealing solutions remains as relevant in light of the energy transition, as it has been throughout the last 20 years.

Our mission at KCI has always been to mitigate, to the greatest extent possible, the damaging side effects of the global oil and gas industry; while appreciating the role this industry has played in enabling and empowering human progress in our lifetimes.

As we consider the future energy mix and the sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations and others, we’re confident that the skills we’ve developed in this industry will allow us to play an important role in the transition to a net-zero economy, working with our customers, suppliers and the wider industry to continue minimising the harmful impacts of essential energy production.

Research and development have always been at the heart of our business - it’s why “innovation” is in our name.

Solutions we already provide include:

  • Repairing leaks that could lead to hydrocarbons being released into the natural environment, preventing pollution

  • Repairing leaks in old equipment to prevent the need for replacement with new equipment, consuming less resources and materials by extending the lifespan of ageing assets

  • Ensuring the safety and integrity of assets to minimise environmental damage and the risk to human life - a small amount of sealant can have substantial, lasting results

As of this year, in addition to continuing to invest in ensuring our existing solutions are as sustainable, suitable and effective as possible; we’re doubling down on investment in new solutions that will further increase the positive impact we can make:

  • Securing the most sustainable production of precious hydrocarbons for critical requirements like medicine, chemicals, irrigation piping for agriculture, IT hardware, mobile phones and more - all essential components of achieving the holistic sustainable development goals

  • Empowering a future beyond the use of hydrocarbons for internal combustion engines, used to simply move people and goods around; to their most fundamental application in saving human lives and enabling global equality

  • Increasing the range of applications to which our solutions and services apply, delivering future energy requirements in the most sustainable way possible

We recognise that as part of this strategy, we must look to our own business and that’s why we’re also making a commitment to sourcing 100% renewable energy for our own consumption and investing in enabling zero-carbon operations. Further details on the specific actions we’re taking, our timeline and progress will be shared shortly.

As we celebrate 20 years of minimising the impact of oil and gas production, our team is committed to ensuring our solutions, services and engineering expertise remain relevant, grounded in our corporate values and company ethics and are made available to the widest range of sectors involved in the production of essential hydrocarbons as possible.

We look forward to working with clients and suppliers existing and new, who are similarly inspired to partner on delivering against the sustainable development goals.

Here’s to the next 20 years and the positive impact we can make to the planet and the lives of all people around the world.
